I’ve been reading an HR serial by an author, and was really liking it, was patient with the wait since she promised fast delivery. I got invested in the series. Installment #5 dropped today and… nothing. Zero resolution. When I’m told this will be installment 5 of 5, I expect something other than another cliffhanger. Now there will be other installments under a different title. I’m not interested. I feel cheated. I feel teased and let down. I put in the time and $, and did not receive the expected payoff.

Note to authors: People like to binge watch (hello Netflix!) and people like to binge read. Enough with the dragging out of the story. I want to pick up an author and read her all weekend. I don’t enjoy being endlessly teased and then let down at the end.
